Torden Two is the top of this series and the point at which the case stops being generous and starts being necessary. An RTX 5070 Ti drawing 300W, a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and a Fractal Meshify 3 Ambience Pro with a full mesh front, three 140mm intakes and a moulded scoop in the floor aiming cool air straight at the card. The NZXT Kraken Plus 240 in the roof takes the processor's heat out of the top so the two never share a path.
The 7800X3D is here because at 1440p it is the processor that matters. Its 96MB of stacked cache is what large open worlds, simulation titles and heavily modded games respond to, and it does that on 120W rather than by brute force. Behind a 5070 Ti it is a genuinely 4K-capable machine that is still fast enough to feed a high refresh 1440p monitor.
Torden is the black sibling of our Luftstrom series, in two tiers rather than three. This is an expensive chassis and it deserves a card worth cooling.
🧬 Built to last, designed to evolve
Built on AMD's AM5 platform, which AMD have committed to supporting into 2027 and beyond, so the processor can be replaced without touching anything else. The board has four DDR5 slots with two free and multiple M.2 slots with only one used, so memory and storage both grow by addition rather than replacement. The case takes graphics cards up to 349mm, with radiator positions still free. This is a machine designed to be kept.

- Still one of the best gaming processors made, and the value pick among them. The enormous cache is what large open worlds, simulation titles, heavily modded games and competitive shooters respond to, and it is why this chip outruns processors with far higher clock speeds in exactly those games
- At 1440p and above it is comfortably ahead of what a 5070 Ti asks of it, which means the card is free to run at its own pace rather than waiting on the processor
- The stacked cache sits above the cores on this generation, so AMD lock the multiplier to protect it. That means the tuning options below are an undervolt and a memory tune rather than an overclock, and we would rather be accurate about that than sell you something the silicon will not do
- Socket AM5, so the 9800X3D upgrade below is a drop-in change and future generations will fit this board too

- A 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler with a copper split-flow coldplate, a Turbine pump running 1,200 to 2,800rpm, and 400mm braided tubing. Mounted in the top of the case as exhaust
- The pump cap carries a 240 by 240 pixel colour LCD. It will show live temperatures, or your own images and animated GIFs, and it is the one piece of visual personality in an otherwise very restrained machine
- The radiator fans are not the ones NZXT supply. We take them off and fit Fractal Momentum 12 ARGB fans instead, so every fan in the machine is from the same family and runs from the same hub. More on that in the case cooling section below
- Two hundred and forty millimetres of radiator against a 120W processor with a great deal in hand. The X3D chips are not hot in absolute terms, they are simply sensitive to being cooled well, and this holds the boost behaviour steady through a long session
- It also keeps the processor's heat off the graphics card. An air cooler dumps warm air into the chassis for the rear fan to deal with; a top-mounted radiator sends it straight out through the roof. With a 300W card underneath, keeping those two heat sources on separate paths is worth more than the raw cooling figure
- Mounted with thermal paste applied by hand rather than a pre-applied pad. Tube routing and pump orientation are set so no air can collect at the pump, which is the thing that shortens an AIO's life

- The point where 1440p stops being a question and 4K becomes reasonable. Sixteen gigabytes of fast memory means textures at maximum without watching the VRAM counter
- DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation. Transformer-model upscaling is a real visual step up from the older model, and it is what makes 4K comfortable on a card at this tier rather than merely possible
- Ray tracing at 1440p is something you leave on rather than weigh up. At 4K it wants DLSS doing some of the work, which it does well

- Every fan in this machine is a Fractal Momentum. The three 140mm intakes come with the case; we fit a 120mm Momentum 12 ARGB at the rear and swap the Kraken's own radiator fans for two more of the same
- That is not just about how it looks, though it does look like one machine rather than three. The Momentum fans daisy-chain on Fractal Connect into the Adjust Pro Hub, so the whole set is one lighting system with one controller and no software. Mixing fan brands would mean two lighting systems and an app to reconcile them
- The Momentum 12 runs 350 to 2,200rpm on a fluid dynamic bearing, moving 62 CFM at 2.42 mmH2O and rated at 28 dBA. They are a genuine step above the fans usually bundled with an AIO, and on a radiator that difference is measurable
- Front in, top and rear out, which is the configuration this case was designed around. Slight positive pressure by design, so air enters through the filtered front rather than being pulled in through every gap. In practice that means noticeably less dust inside a year from now
- Six fans in total, all tuned to a manual curve before dispatch rather than left on the motherboard's defaults
- Fan curves are set by hand and verified through our standard stress testing rather than assumed. Honest expectation setting: a 300W card makes noise in any case, and it is the card you will hear rather than the processor. What this chassis does is let it make that noise at a lower fan speed than it would elsewhere. Near silent at the desktop, and audible but composed under a heavy load

- On the 7800X3D the multiplier is locked, so the processor side is an undervolt and a memory tune rather than an overclock. Both are worth having, and the X3D cache responds well to a memory tune. The GPU overclock is where most of the frame rate gain sits, and in this case there is thermal headroom to use it

Why don't all parts list a brand and model?
Most of our spec is named exactly. The processor, motherboard, case, cooler and power supply are the models listed, every time.
For memory, storage and graphics cards we give a performance and quality guarantee instead of a model name. Supply on these three moves constantly, and pricing with it. Rather than list a part we might not be able to source next week, we commit to the specification: capacity, speed, timings, endurance class. And for graphics cards, we will always give you the chipset (e.g. RTX 5070 Ti) and VRAM (e.g. 16GB) that is listed.
We only use parts from established manufacturers. In practice the difference between two well-made components at the same specification is small enough that most people would never notice it.
If you'd like to know exactly what's going into your machine, ask before you order and we'll tell you. If you'd prefer a particular model, we can usually accommodate that, and you'd pay the difference in cost.

The cooler's LCD screen needs NZXT CAM installed to do most of what it can do (click or tap to read more)
This is the one place where this build asks something of you. Without NZXT CAM running, the pump holds a fixed speed of around 80 percent and the screen shows liquid temperature and nothing else. With CAM installed you get your own images and GIFs, a choice of readouts, and dynamic pump and fan curves. We set the machine up so it is perfectly happy either way, and we tune the fan curves in the BIOS so they do not depend on it. But if you are the sort of person who would rather have nothing extra running in the background, you should know that the screen is the part that suffers. The case lighting is separate and needs no software at all.

There are two control systems in this machine, and only one of them needs software (click or tap to read more)
The case lighting, including all six fans, runs from Fractal's Adjust Pro Hub. That is configured once and remembered by the hub, with nothing installed on your PC. The cooler's screen is NZXT's and uses CAM. We would rather have one system than two, but no single manufacturer makes both the case we want and the screen we want. Fitting Momentum fans on the radiator is what keeps the lighting side down to one system rather than two.

A 300W graphics card makes noise in any case. What this one does is let it make that noise at a lower fan speed, because the mesh front and the floor scoop feed it cool air directly and the processor's heat leaves through the roof rather than joining it. This is among the better balanced machines we make on noise for the performance, but it is not silent when the card is working and we would rather say so. The Premier Optimisation fan profile is where most of the further improvement lives.

The Meshify 3 Ambience Pro costs several times what a budget chassis costs, and it earns that on airflow and build quality. But putting an entry-level graphics card inside it would mean asking you to pay a lot for cooling headroom you would never use. If you want a machine below Torden One's price, our Coquette or Secret series will serve you better and we would rather point you there than sell you an expensive box with a small card in it.

The Kraken ships with two of NZXT's own 120mm fans. We remove them and fit Fractal Momentum 12 ARGB fans instead, so the whole machine runs one family of fans on one lighting hub. The NZXT fans are perfectly good and are not faulty in any way; they simply do not match. They stay with us rather than being shipped as spares, and that is reflected in the price you are paying.
- RGB heatspreaders on the RAM are not guaranteed unless the quick add-on is chosen - this is due to industry-wide supply constraints on memory
- Product images are representative photos of a similar spec in the same style. Your PC will look similar but not identical. Our support team can help clarify anything you're unsure of.
