Metallique Two is the Antec Performance 1M doing what it was built for. A Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a Radeon RX 9070 XT, in a CNC-machined chassis smaller than most consoles.

The 7800X3D is the part that makes this work. It is faster in games than processors drawing twice the power, and in a case this size the watts a component does not use are heat you do not have to move. It is the rare choice that is both the quick one and the sensible one, and it is why this build stays composed where a hotter processor would not.

The 9070 XT then handles 1440p at ultra without effort and steps up to 4K when you ask. In nineteen litres, that is not a compromise machine.

This system is built on AMD's latest AM5 platform, which offers one of the best upgrade paths available today. That means you can start with a great processor now and still have room to move up the stack later, while keeping the same motherboard, case, power supply and most of your core components.   • A low-profile top-down cooler, 67mm tall, with six heatpipes and a full-size 120mm fan. Small form factor coolers are usually a compromise. This one genuinely is not, and it is fitted as standard here rather than sold as an upgrade
  • The 120mm fan is the point. A larger fan moves the air a 7800X3D needs while turning slowly, and fan speed is what you actually hear. Most coolers at this height use a 92mm fan and have to spin it hard to keep up
  • Top-down rather than tower, so it also pushes air across the motherboard's power stages and memory, which in a compact case with no through-draught is worth having

  • 16GB of GDDR6 on a 256-bit bus. That is a lot of memory for the money, and it is the specification that keeps a card usable as texture budgets grow rather than merely fast on release day
  • FSR 4 is a real change from what came before. It is machine-learning based rather than the older analytical approach, and in supported titles the image quality is close enough to native that leaving it on is an easy decision
