🔥 Ark Five

The one with nothing left to ask for

Ark Five is the top of the Ark line, and it exists for people who have decided they are only doing this once. An RTX 5090 and a Ryzen 7 9850X3D is not a sensible pairing. It is the fastest gaming combination you can currently buy, and it behaves like it.

What that means day to day is that the settings menu stops being a decision. 4K, everything on, path tracing enabled, and the frame rate still lands where a 1440p machine would. Games that used to be a compromise between looking right and feeling right stop being either. The 9850X3D's stacked cache keeps the frame times flat while the 5090 does the heavy lifting.

It lives in the Fractal Pop 2 Vision, a dual-chamber panoramic case that lets you actually see what you paid for, without shouting about it.

🧬 Built to last, designed to evolve

This system is built on AMD's latest AM5 platform, which offers one of the best upgrade paths available today. That means you can start with a great processor now and still have room to move up the stack later, while keeping the same motherboard, case, power supply and most of your core components. GPU, storage and cooling are all easily upgradable so the system can grow with your needs over time.

📃 Specifications

  • 🧠 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • 8 cores, 16 threads of Zen 5 with 96MB of L3 cache, using second-generation 3D V-Cache mounted underneath the cores rather than on top. That is what allows it to clock high and cache heavily at the same time, which earlier X3D chips could not do
    • 4.7GHz base, 5.6GHz boost, 120W TDP, unlocked
    • Straight answer on the 9850X3D versus the 9800X3D: it is around 3 to 4% quicker in games and roughly the same in productivity. It is the faster chip and it is the right chip for a build at this level, but if you already own a 9800X3D there is no reason on earth to change it
    • What matters more is what X3D does against everything that is not X3D. In CPU-bound scenarios - competitive shooters, large simulation games, heavily modded worlds - the cache is the difference between smooth and nearly smooth
    • Unlocked for overclocking, which is what the Ultimate Performance Tune option makes use of
  • ❄️ CPU cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 A-RGB
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • 360mm radiator with three 120mm A-RGB fans, plus the small VRM fan built into the pump head that pushes air over the motherboard's power stages. Most AIOs leave that area to chance
    • We fit the 360mm here rather than the 280mm we use further down the Ark range. The 9850X3D pulls closer to 160W in sustained load than its 120W rating suggests, and the extra radiator area means the fans hold a lower RPM to shift the same heat. That shows up as quieter, not colder
    • The Liquid Freezer III is one of the most consistently well-reviewed AIO families on the market, and ARCTIC back it with a 6 year warranty
    • Mounted in the top of the case, so it exhausts CPU heat straight out rather than recirculating it past the graphics card
  • 🔲 Motherboard: ASRock B850 Riptide WiFi (ATX)
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • 14+2+1 phase power design with 80A DrMOS on Vcore and SOC. Plain English translation: overkill power handling, which means any socket AM5 CPU will run beautifully in this motherboard if you choose to upgrade later. The board never becomes the limit, whether you overclock now or move up the stack in a few years
    • PCIe 5.0 x16 for the graphics card, so the slot is ready for the generation of cards after this one as well as the RTX 5090 fitted today
    • Four M.2 slots, one of them PCIe Gen5 x4, on an 8-layer PCB. Three drives can be added later without touching what is already installed
    • Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet onboard
    • PC36 only uses motherboards chosen for stability and longevity. See our Trusted brands page
  • 📏 Memory / RAM: 48GB (2×24GB) DDR5-6000 CL36
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • EXPO-tuned dual channel DDR5-6000 CL36, which is the sweet spot Ryzen responds to best on AM5. Two sticks rather than four, so the memory controller runs at its rated speed rather than being backed off to keep four modules stable
    • 48GB rather than 32GB because at this tier the extra capacity is cheap relative to the build, and it removes the one bottleneck that is genuinely annoying to fix later. Heavily modded games, large game worlds, streaming with a browser full of tabs, or editing alongside a game running - none of those get to be the reason the machine stutters
    • Specification guaranteed, model may vary. Happy to confirm the exact part on request
  • 💾 Storage: 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD (TLC)
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • TLC flash rated at 6,500MB/s or better, which holds its speed on long sustained writes rather than dropping off once a cache fills. On a build at this price we do not fit QLC drives
    • Higher write endurance than the entry-tier alternative, which matters if you record gameplay, edit video, or simply install and uninstall a lot
    • 1TB is the starting point rather than the intention here. Three further M.2 slots sit free on this board, including a Gen5 socket, so adding storage later needs no compromises. Most buyers at this level take the 2TB option below
    • Specification guaranteed, model may vary. Happy to confirm the exact part on request
  • 🎮 Graphics card: NVIDIA RTX 5090 32GB (shipped separately for safety, see below)
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • This is a bulky and valuable graphics card, and as such it will be shipped separately with instructions for you to install it upon receipt
    • To be clear about what that means: the card is fitted into this exact system, stress tested in it, and only then carefully removed and boxed for transit. Your machine is built and validated as a whole. We do not drop-ship graphics cards or send you parts to assemble
    • The fastest consumer graphics card in the world. 4K at maximum settings with path tracing enabled and DLSS 4 frame generation is comfortable rather than aspirational, and there is nothing currently sold that will make it struggle
    • 32GB of GDDR7 on a 512-bit bus. For gaming that is more memory than any current title needs, which is the point - it is the buffer that keeps this card relevant several years from now. For 3D, AI and video work it is the single most useful number on this listing
    • The chipset and VRAM are guaranteed: it will always be an RTX 5090 with 32GB. The AIB brand varies with availability, and we only use established manufacturers. See our Trusted brands page for more info
  • 🧰 Case: Fractal Pop 2 Vision - Black RGB
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • 270 degree panoramic tempered glass across the front and left side, so the interior is visible from two angles at once
    • Dual-chamber layout separates the PSU and cabling from the main components, keeping the visible chamber clean
    • Supports graphics cards up to 412mm and CPU coolers up to 172mm tall, which is what makes a card the size of the RTX 5090 a straightforward fit rather than a measuring exercise
    • The top mount takes the full 360mm radiator fitted here
    • Tool-free access to both side panels, the top filter and the front panel
    • Reverse connector motherboard support for a cleaner cable presentation where applicable
  • 🌬️ Case cooling: 5 × 120mm ARGB case fans, plus 3 × 120mm on the AIO radiator
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • Four Fractal Aspect 12X Reverse RGB fans come pre-installed with the case, two side intake and two bottom intake, feeding cool air straight onto the graphics card
    • Reverse blade design means the lighting faces outward through the glass, producing a more even and deliberate ARGB effect than standard fans
    • We add a fifth 120mm ARGB fan at the rear as exhaust. The RTX 5090 dumps a lot of heat into the main chamber and the rear position clears it on the shortest path out, rather than letting it collect behind the card
    • The AIO handles the CPU independently in the top mount, which leaves all five case fans free to concentrate on the graphics card and motherboard
    • Eight fans in total, all tuned before dispatch. ARGB is controllable via the front panel buttons or motherboard software, and can be turned off entirely without affecting the look of the build
  • Power supply: Corsair RM1000e 1000W ATX 3.1, fully modular
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • Includes a native 600W 12V-2x6 cable with Corsair's ThermalProtect over-temperature protection built into the connector itself. Given the history that this connector has on high-power cards, a PSU that monitors the temperature at the plug and shuts down before anything is damaged is the single most reassuring thing you can specify on a 5090 build. The card plugs straight in with no adaptor and no dongle
    • ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 certified, which means it is built to absorb the brief power spikes the RTX 5090 produces rather than tripping over them. On a card of this draw that certification is doing real work
    • 1000W is NVIDIA's recommended figure for the RTX 5090 and it covers this build with the CPU at full load at the same time. Cybenetics Gold rated for efficiency, with the current revision certified Platinum
    • Zero RPM mode means the PSU fan does not spin at all under light and moderate load, so in desktop use and lighter games it contributes no noise whatsoever
    • 105°C-rated capacitors and a seven year Corsair warranty
    • Fully modular, which genuinely matters in this case. The Pop 2 Vision mounts the PSU in the cable chamber rather than a shrouded basement, so there is less room to hide what you are not using. Only the cables this build needs are installed
  • 🔌 Cabling: All black cabling as standard
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • The RM1000e ships with flat, ultra-flexible black cables with low-profile combs. Flat is the right choice in a dual-chamber case like this one, because it routes into tighter channels than a round sleeved cable will
    • Routed through the dual-chamber layout, which keeps the bulk of the cabling hidden from the glass side by design
    • Fully modular means only the cables in use are present, so nothing spare is left cluttering the rear chamber
  • 📶 WiFi / Bluetooth / Ethernet: Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, included
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are built into the ASRock B850 Riptide WiFi. No separate adapter needed, and the aerial is supplied in the box
    • Wi-Fi 7 adds the 6GHz band and wider channels, which is usually far less congested than 2.4 and 5GHz if your router supports it
    • 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet for a wired connection, which we would still recommend for competitive play
  • 🪟 Operating system: As chosen by you from the listing options below. Windows 11 Home (OEM) is recommended.
  • 🧹 Setup and optimisation: PC36 High-Class Standard. Full stress test with certificate, bloat-free installation, and BIOS set up properly
Click or tap for deeper spec info

PC36 High-Class Standard, included free with every build

    • Ready the moment you open the box. Your PC boots straight into Windows with a local account already set up. No account sign-in wall, no first-run questionnaire, no half-hour of setup before you can use the machine you just bought
    • BIOS updated and configured properly: manual fan curves, PBO enabled, EXPO/XMP enabled, Secure Boot enabled
    • Vanilla Windows 11 installation if you choose Windows, with no bloatware added by us, and all drivers loaded and ready to go
    • Full stress test with certificate. Every system is torture tested on CPU, RAM and GPU before dispatch, and ships with the certificate to prove it

PC36 Premier Optimisation, available in the listing options

    • CPU tuning to bring thermals and noise down with minimal performance loss, plus a deeper strip and debloat of Windows
    • On a machine with eight fans and a 575W graphics card in it, this is the option that makes the largest practical difference to how the PC feels to live with. Worth it if you want the quietest, leanest possible version of this build

PC36 Ultimate Performance Tune, available in the listing options

    • Advanced overclocking: RAM tune, CPU tune and GPU overclock on top of everything in Premier
    • Being straight with you about where the gains come from here. The 9850X3D and the memory both respond well to tuning and that is where most of the measurable result sits. The RTX 5090 already ships close to its power limit, so the GPU portion returns less than it would on a smaller card. It is still the most capable platform we sell to tune, but the honest headline is CPU and RAM rather than GPU
  • 🛡️ Warranty: 3 years parts & labour (return to base)
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • Standard 3-year coverage included, parts and labour both
    • Optional extended warranties in the listing options below
Why don't all parts list a brand and model?

Most of our spec is named exactly. The processor, motherboard, case, cooler and power supply are the models listed, every time.

For memory, storage and graphics cards we give a performance and quality guarantee instead of a model name. Supply on these three moves constantly, and pricing with it. Rather than list a part we might not be able to source next week, we commit to the specification: capacity, speed, timings, endurance class. And for graphics cards, we will always give you the chipset (e.g. RTX 5090) and VRAM (e.g. 32GB) that is listed.

We only use parts from established manufacturers. In practice the difference between two well-made components at the same specification is small enough that most people would never notice it.

If you'd like to know exactly what's going into your machine, ask before you order and we'll tell you. If you'd prefer a particular model, we can usually accommodate that, and you'd pay the difference in cost.

👁️ Transparency notes

  • The graphics card ships in its own box. This system contains a bulky and highly valuable graphics card. Therefore, we will ship the graphics card in a separate box, and provide simple instructions showing you how to install it. All graphics cards have a point of weakness at the "PCIe" connector. Separate shipping of the card prevents shipping damage to the graphics card which may occur despite our industry-leading packaging methods. If you have any queries about this, please contact us.
  • On the 9850X3D specifically. It is currently the fastest gaming processor available, but the gap to the 9800X3D below it is around 3 to 4% in games. We would rather you knew that from us than found it in a review afterwards. If the difference between those two chips is what decides whether this build fits your budget, talk to us on live chat and we will spec it the other way.
  • Power draw is real. An RTX 5090 and a 9850X3D under simultaneous full load will pull meaningfully more from the wall than a typical gaming PC. Nothing about that is a problem for the machine, but it is worth knowing if the room is small or the plug socket is shared with a lot else.
  • Product images are representative photos of a similar spec in the same style. Your PC will look similar but not identical. Our support team can help clarify anything you're unsure of.
  • RGB heatspreaders on the RAM are not guaranteed unless the quick add-on is chosen.
  • Most parts are named models and will be what is delivered. RAM, SSD and graphics card will instead carry a spec guarantee due to current market conditions making stock very variable. This keeps us agile enough to offer good pricing and honest spec lists. If you want clarity on precise models we will use, drop us a live chat on the day you're ready to purchase and we'll confirm it.

🛠️ Popular upgrade options

  • Need a monitor, keyboard or mouse? Scroll past the add to cart button. We've paired specific peripherals to get the best out of this build.
Click or tap for more info

Worth a word here. A 5090 aimed at a 60Hz or entry-level 1440p panel is the most common way we see money wasted on a build like this. If your monitor is more than a few years old, upgrading it will change your experience more than any component change we could sell you.

  • Storage upgrade to 2TB: available in the listing options below.
Click or tap for more info

Worth it for most people buying at this level. Modern AAA installs regularly run past 150GB each, and if you are capturing footage at 4K the 1TB drive fills faster than you expect. The board has three further M.2 slots so you can also add later rather than now, if you would rather see how you get on.

  • RAM upgrade to 64GB: available in the listing options below.
Click or tap for more info

Worth it only if you already know why you want it - large 3D scenes, local AI models, heavy multi-track video timelines, or virtual machines. For gaming, including heavily modded gaming, the 48GB fitted as standard is not the limit and adding more will not gain you frames.

  • Acoustics upgrade to the Noctua Pure Silence setup: choose it from the quick-add upgrades, or speak with us via live chat.
Click or tap for more info

Every case and cooler fan swapped for Noctua NF-A12x25 G2s, with a noise profile tuned into the BIOS to match. It is the quietest we can make a machine with current hardware. Two honest caveats: Noctua fans have no ARGB, so this trades away the lighting the Pop 2 Vision's panoramic glass is built to show off, and no upgrade makes a 5090 truly silent under full load.

Before you consider it, look at Premier Optimisation in the listing options instead. Tuning the fans already in the case gets you most of the way there for a fraction of the cost, and it is what we would suggest first to almost everyone.

  • Extended warranty: available in the listing options below.
Click or tap for more info

3 years parts and labour is included as standard. On a system with this much component value in it, extending that is one of the few upgrades here where the maths is simply about how long you intend to keep it.

  • Anything else: speak with us via live chat. Custom loops, specific AIB cards, different cases, larger storage arrays - a build at this level is exactly the sort of thing we would rather discuss with you first.

🎯 What is this PC best for?

  • 4K gaming at maximum settings, including path tracing, with headroom left
  • High refresh rate 4K, which is the resolution and frame rate combination that actually needs a card this size
  • Competitive shooters at very high frame rates, where the 9850X3D's cache is what sets the ceiling rather than the graphics card
  • 3D rendering, local AI work and heavy video timelines alongside gaming, where the 32GB of VRAM does work no other consumer card can
  • VR at high resolution and refresh
  • Buyers who want the best available and would rather not think about upgrading again for a long time
