Machined aluminium and solid wood are what you find on a good amplifier, not on a PC case. That is rather the point of the Jonsbo T9: 4mm aluminium panels standing on a block of real walnut, 11 litres in total, and a machine meant to be left out where you can see it. Ro One is the least expensive way into one.

Inside is a deliberately modest pairing, a Ryzen 5 5600 and an RTX 5060, and it's what makes the machine cost what it does. AM4 keeps the board and the memory inexpensive, and both parts run cool enough that 11 litres never becomes the problem it could be. High settings at 1080p, and 1440p with DLSS 4 doing the work.

What you end up with is a computer you can leave on a shelf in a room people sit in. That is rarer than it sounds, and it is what the rest of the build is arranged around.

🧬 Built to last, designed to evolve

This system is built on AMD's AM4 platform rather than the newer AM5. That is a deliberate choice at this price: AM4 is a mature, extremely well supported socket with cheap memory and cheap boards, and it is what makes this machine cost what it does. Being honest about the trade, AMD have stopped releasing new processors for it, so the processor here sits near the top of a range AMD stopped extending. The CPU upgrade we offer on this platform is the Ryzen 7 5700X. The graphics card, storage and cooling all remain straightforward to change, within the space limits any small form factor build has.

That is still a small heat load, which is what this case wants: the T9 gives a cooler between 58mm and 78mm depending on how the interior is set up, and the 5600 sits comfortably inside what a cooler that size can move
  • If you ever want more cores, the Ryzen 7 5700X drops straight into this board. It is the CPU upgrade we offer on this platform, and it helps most with streaming, editing and heavy multitasking rather than with frame rates

  • The cooler AMD ship with the 5600, and it is genuinely matched to it. The 5600 boosts past its 65W rating to around 88W with every core loaded, and this is the cooler AMD specified for exactly that
  • Being straight about it: it keeps the 5600 within temperature comfortably, and it is audible when the processor is working hard. It is not a bad cooler, it is a small one. If quiet matters to you, the Thermalright AXP120-X67 upgrade below is the single most effective change you can make to this machine
  • At 54mm it is short, and in this case that is worth something specific. The T9's interior slides to trade cooler height against graphics card thickness, and a short cooler lets us set it for the most graphics card room. There is more on this in the case notes below

  • This is a QLC drive. It is quick for everything you will do day to day, and it slows down only during very long sustained writes such as moving hundreds of gigabytes in one go. For gaming and normal use you would not notice, and the money saved is in the graphics card instead

  • Blackwell with 8GB of GDDR7. Comfortable 1080p at high settings in modern titles, and very high frame rates in competitive games
  • DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, which is what keeps a card at this level playing current titles well. The transformer upscaling model is a real visual step up from the older one
  • NVENC for streaming and recording, including AV1. It is the encoder most streaming software is built around
  • A modest card by design. It draws little power and produces little heat, which is exactly what 11 litres wants
  • Being straight about the 8GB: it is enough at 1080p, and it is enough at 1440p in the large majority of games. In a handful of very recent titles at maximum texture settings you can run short of it, and the fix is turning textures down one step, which costs almost nothing you would see.   • 11 litres. 155 × 325 × 224mm, and 3.85kg before anything goes in it. Mini-ITX only
  • 4mm aluminium alloy with steel reinforcement, sitting on a solid walnut base. Most cases at any price are folded steel with an aluminium front panel. This one is machined aluminium throughout and it feels like it. The wood is real, not a printed finish, so every one is slightly different
  • Dual chamber layout. The graphics card sits in its own compartment on one side, connected by a riser cable, with the motherboard and power supply on the other. Each side draws its own air, which is how a case this small stays sensible
  • The interior slides to three positions, trading cooler height against graphics card thickness: 78mm of cooler with a 2-slot card, 68mm with a 2.5-slot card, or 58mm with a 3-slot card. Ro One uses a short cooler, so we set it for the most card room
  • Graphics cards up to 310mm long. Standard SFX power supplies only, not SFX-L
  • One 3.5 inch bay and one 2.5 inch bay, or two 2.5 inch drives. Fitting a 3.5 inch hard drive drops the graphics card limit from 310mm to 202mm, so it is one or the other rather than both
  • Front I/O is a single USB-C port and a hidden power button. That is all there is. No USB-A on the front, and no headphone or microphone jack. It is a deliberate design decision by Jonsbo to keep the aluminium clean, and the board's rear panel has the rest. Worth knowing before you order if you plug things in and out often

  • Small form factor builds take considerably longer to assemble, cable and tune than a standard tower. That work is included in the price rather than added to it

  • We do not fit the top fan on this tier, and we will explain why rather than leave a gap in the spec list. The T9 ships with no fans at all. It has one 120mm mount in the top of the motherboard chamber, and at Ro One's power level it is not doing enough to be worth the noise it makes
  • The graphics card sits in its own compartment with its own vents, so it draws cool air directly rather than sharing with the processor. At 145W it is comfortable there
  • The processor side is cooled by the Wraith Stealth pulling air through the perforated panelling. A 65W chip is a small amount of heat to move
  • If you would rather have the fan, ask us on live chat and we will fit one. It is a genuine improvement on the two tiers above, where there is more heat to shift. Here it is closer to insurance than necessity, and we would rather tell you that than sell it to you
  • Fan curves and power limits are set by hand before dispatch and verified through our standard stress testing rather than assumed

  • SFX form factor, because that is what a case this size takes. An SFX unit is roughly half the volume of a standard ATX supply and costs considerably more for the same wattage, which is one of the hidden expenses of building small and one we would rather explain than bury
  • 750W is far more than this build draws, which is deliberate. It means a much larger graphics card can go in later without touching the power supply, and in a case this size that is not a swap you want to be doing twice

  The upgrade we would take first on this build, ahead of anything else. A 67mm low-profile cooler with six heatpipes and a full-size 120mm fan, in place of a small stock cooler spinning fast. It is the difference between a machine you can hear across a room and one you cannot. Worth it for almost everyone, and particularly if the machine is going on a desk you sit at. The one thing to know is that it moves the interior to the 68mm position, which caps the graphics card at 2.5 slots - not a limitation for the RTX 5060 in this build, but relevant if you plan a much larger card later.

  Eight cores instead of six, on the same platform and the same cooler. Worth it if you stream while you play, edit video, or run anything that genuinely uses every core. Honest caveat: in most games it will not raise your frame rate much, because the 5600 is already quick enough per core and the graphics card is the limit. If frames are what you are after, put the money into the card instead and we will say so if you ask.
