Ridge Three is the top of the range, and it is the point at which a case this size stops being a compromise at all. An RTX 5070 Ti with 16GB of GDDR7 and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D will play anything at 1440p with everything turned up, and will hold its own at 4K with DLSS doing the work it was designed for.
It is also the build where the constraints bite hardest, and we would rather be the ones to tell you. The processor runs to a 90W package ceiling because 70mm of cooler height is what this case allows. The graphics card has to be a model that fits properly alongside the side fans, so we choose it rather than taking whatever is cheapest that week. Neither of those is a problem, but both are decisions, and you should be able to see them.
This is the machine for someone who has decided that where the computer sits matters as much as what it does. It goes under a television, it stands beside a monitor, and it looks like a piece of furniture rather than a tower with a window in it.
🧬 Built to last, designed to evolve
Built on AMD's AM5 platform, which AMD have committed to supporting into 2027 and beyond. The processor, memory and storage can all be upgraded without replacing the motherboard, and the board's second M.2 slot is free for a later drive. This is the top of what we would sensibly fit in this chassis, so the honest upgrade path from here is a larger case rather than a larger card, and we will say so on live chat rather than sell you something that will not breathe.

- The cache is the whole point. Stacking 64MB of extra L3 on top of the die means far more of a game's working data sits next to the cores instead of out in system memory. In the games that care - large open worlds, simulation titles, heavily modded games, competitive shooters at very high refresh - that is worth more than raw clock speed
- Why we cap it at around 90W, stated plainly. This case allows 70mm of cooler and no more. Rather than let the chip chase a power limit it cannot cool, we set a sensible ceiling. In games the 7800X3D typically draws well under 90W anyway, so the cap costs essentially nothing where it matters. In long all-core work such as video exports or rendering, this machine will finish behind the same processor in a full tower
- Being straight about pairing: at 1440p with settings up, and at 4K in everything, the graphics card is what sets your frame rate here. The X3D cache earns its keep in the competitive and simulation titles where the processor leads
- The 7800X3D is not multiplier-overclockable. The stacked cache sits above the cores on this generation, so AMD lock the multiplier to protect it. Tuning here means undervolting via Curve Optimiser, which in a case this size is the more useful direction anyway
- Socket AM5, so a faster processor can go in later without replacing anything else
- ❄️ CPU cooler: Thermalright AXP120-X67

- A low-profile top-down cooler, 67mm tall, with six heatpipes and a full-size 120mm fan
- The case allows 70mm and no more. That rules out every tower cooler ever made, so the only question is which low-profile cooler, and this is the best one available. Most coolers at this height use a 92mm fan and have to spin it hard; the 120mm fan here moves the same air far more slowly, and fan speed is what you actually hear
- Top-down design, so it also pushes air across the motherboard's power stages and memory. In a chassis this size that is worth having, because there is no case fan aimed at that side of the board
- An all-in-one liquid cooler is not an option here, and we would rather explain why than leave you wondering. Mounting a radiator in a Ridge requires a graphics card under 175mm long, which no card at this level is. Air cooling is not a shortcut in this case, it is the only correct answer
- Mounted with Thermalright's own paste, applied by hand rather than using a pre-applied pad

- 8+2+1 power phase design with Dr.MOS on an 8-layer PCB. Plain English translation: more power delivery than this processor will ever ask for, particularly with a 90W ceiling in place
- The same board as Ridge One and Ridge Two, and that is a deliberate decision rather than a saving we hid. There are pricier Mini-ITX boards whose headline feature is a PCIe 5.0 slot for the graphics card. In this chassis that buys you nothing at all: the Ridge connects the card through a rigid riser which runs at PCIe 4.0 whatever the board offers. We would rather put the money into the machine than into a number you cannot use
- Two M.2 slots, one Gen5 and one Gen4. Only one is used on this build. The Gen5 M.2 is wired straight to the processor and does not pass through the riser, so it runs at full speed and a Gen5 drive later is a real option
- Two DDR5 slots supporting up to 128GB, both used here with a matched pair

- 32GB is the right amount for a machine at this level. It covers modern games at maximum settings with plenty spare for a browser, Discord and a stream running alongside
- Both memory slots are used, so a later capacity increase means replacing the pair rather than adding to it. That is a Mini-ITX reality rather than a choice we made

- Blackwell, 16GB of GDDR7 on a 256-bit bus. A very strong 1440p card and a genuinely capable 4K one with DLSS doing the upscaling
- This is the ray tracing tier. If you have been reading that Radeon is behind NVIDIA on ray tracing in our other listings, this is the listing where that stops being a caveat. Heavy ray tracing at 1440p is comfortable here
- DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, which is the reason a card at this level plays 4K properly rather than merely acceptably. Transformer-model upscaling is a real visual step up from what came before
- Dual NVENC encoders. If you stream or record seriously, NVENC is what most streaming software is built around and it remains the encoder to have. AV1 supported for both encode and decode
- Card selection matters more here than anywhere in the range. With the side fans fitted the card can be up to 57mm thick, and the case takes cards up to 335mm long. Most 5070 Ti models fit, but not all of them do, so we select and verify a model that goes in properly with the fans in place. We do not ask you to remove them to make a card fit
- Powered by a 12V-2x6 connector. In a case this size the bend radius on that cable is a real consideration, so it is routed with proper clearance rather than folded to make it reach - one of the several things that make a Ridge take longer to build than a tower

- A fabric front panel set into a CNC-machined aluminium frame. It is meant to sit out in a room rather than under a desk, and it does not look like a computer
- Feet are supplied for both orientations. Stand it upright beside a monitor, or lay it flat under a television like an amplifier. On this tier we would strongly recommend upright, because it cools measurably better and this build gives the case the most heat to move of anything in the range
- Two 140mm Fractal Aspect 14 PWM fans included in the side panel as intake, feeding air directly onto the graphics card
- Sandwich layout. The motherboard sits on one side and the graphics card on the other, connected by a rigid PCIe riser card rather than a ribbon. That is what makes a case this thin possible, and it means the card gets its own air rather than sharing with the processor. The riser runs at PCIe 4.0, which on a card at this level costs a fraction of a percent and is not something you would ever see in a game. It is also why we fit the board we do rather than a pricier one - see the motherboard notes above
- Graphics cards up to 335mm long, CPU coolers up to 70mm tall, SFX and SFX-L power supplies
- Four 2.5 inch drive mounts, with all four brackets in the box. No 3.5 inch bays

- Small form factor builds take considerably longer to assemble, cable and tune than a standard tower. That work is included in the price rather than added to it, and on this build it is the most of it

- Two Fractal Aspect 14 PWM fans in the side panel, blowing straight onto the graphics card through its own perforated panel. Simple, and effective, because the card has its own side of the sandwich and its own air
- Proper four-pin PWM fans, not the three-pin fans usually bundled at this price, so they can be slowed right down when the machine is idle. Plain black, no lighting
- The case also has three 80mm mounts in the top which Fractal do not populate. 80mm fans have to spin fast to move meaningful air, and we would rather not add that noise for a small gain. If you want them fitted, ask on live chat and we will discuss it honestly rather than just selling you three fans
- Fan curves are set by hand before dispatch and verified through our standard stress testing rather than assumed. On this build that tuning is the difference between a machine you enjoy having in the room and one you resent
- Honest expectation setting: this is the most demanding configuration we put in this case. At idle and in light use it is very quiet. Under a heavy gaming load you will hear it, and more than you would hear the same components in a full tower. Standing it upright, taking the Premier Optimisation, and giving it room to breathe all help. If silence under load is your priority above everything, a larger case is the honest answer and we will tell you that on live chat

The card and processor together draw around 400W in a heavy game, and Blackwell cards are known for short transient spikes well above their rated draw. The extra headroom keeps the supply comfortable rather than working at its limit
- SFX form factor, because that is what a case this size takes. An SFX unit is roughly half the volume of a standard ATX supply and costs considerably more for the same wattage, which is one of the hidden expenses of building small and one we would rather explain than bury
- Fully modular, which in twelve and a half litres is a functional requirement rather than a tidiness preference. There is nowhere to put a cable you are not using

Why don't all parts list a brand and model?
Most of our spec is named exactly. The processor, motherboard, case, cooler and power supply are the models listed, every time.
For memory, storage and graphics cards we give a performance and quality guarantee instead of a model name. Supply on these three moves constantly, and pricing with it. Rather than list a part we might not be able to source next week, we commit to the specification: capacity, speed, timings, endurance class. And for graphics cards, we will always give you the chipset (e.g. RTX 5070 Ti) and VRAM (e.g. 16GB) that is listed.
We only use parts from established manufacturers. In practice the difference between two well-made components at the same specification is small enough that most people would never notice it.
If you'd like to know exactly what's going into your machine, ask before you order and we'll tell you. If you'd prefer a particular model, we can usually accommodate that, and you'd pay the difference in cost.

A 300W class graphics card and a capped 8-core processor in 12.6 litres cannot be as quiet as the same parts in a full tower - there is simply less air and less surface area. At idle and in light use it is very quiet. Under a heavy load you will hear it. We tune the fan curves by hand, we recommend running it upright, and we would rather set the expectation than let you find out after it arrives.

A card of this size and weight will sag and sway at its outer end, and in a chassis this dense that movement is a real risk to the card and to the slot it sits in. The restraint stops it, and it is part of how we make a build like this safe to own and safe to move.

It is also fully unlocked, unlike the 7800X3D, because the second-generation cache sits underneath the cores instead of on top - which means the Ultimate Performance Tune has more to work with. Returns Policy
Returns are accepted within 14 calendar days of delivery, with the following conditions:
- Buyer bears responsibility for return postage cost (unless faulty), and responsibility for the safety/condition of the parcel on its journey back to us
- All serial numbers are recorded and any discrepancies will void the return
- The PC and packaging must be returned in saleable as new condition. All packaging and accessories must be included in the return or it will be void
- Refunds are sent directly to the payment method used for the order
