A gaming PC that does not look like a gaming PC

Most PCs are designed to be admired by other people who like PCs. Nord One is not. The front is real walnut, cut into slats, over a steel mesh and a dust filter. The side is dark tinted glass. There is no lighting anywhere inside it unless you ask us for some.

Underneath the wood it is a straightforward, well-judged 1440p machine: a Ryzen 5 7500F, a Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16GB of memory, and a case with two 140mm intakes already in the front. Nothing exotic, nothing that needs explaining away.

We should be upfront about what you are buying. Our Aegis One runs the same processor and the same graphics card in a plainer case for a hundred pounds less. If the way the machine looks on your desk is worth a hundred pounds to you, this is the one. If it is not, buy the Aegis and spend the difference on a monitor. We would rather say that here than have you work it out afterwards.

🧬 Built to last, designed to evolve

This system is built on AMD's latest AM5 platform, which offers one of the best upgrade paths available today. That means you can start with a great processor now and still have room to move up the stack later, while keeping the same motherboard, case, power supply and most of your core components. The power supply on this build is deliberately larger than this graphics card needs, so a step up to a considerably faster card later is a straight swap rather than a rebuild.

  • 65W TDP, so it runs cool and quiet and does not need an expensive cooler to behave itself
  • At 1440p with this class of graphics card, the card is what sets your frame rate, not the processor. Spending more here would not show up on screen

  • One stick rather than two, and that is a deliberate choice worth understanding. A single module runs in single channel, which costs a few percent in some games.   • The North ships with two Fractal Aspect 14 PWM fans already in the front, drawing cool air in through the walnut. They are proper PWM fans, not the three-pin fans usually bundled at this price, so they can be slowed right down when the machine is idle
  • It does not ship with a rear fan, which surprises most people who buy one. Every Nord we build gets a 120mm exhaust fitted at the back as standard. Without it the warm air coming off the cooler has nowhere sensible to go. It costs us very little and it is not something you should have to notice
  • The glass-panel version of this case does not include Fractal's fan hub, which only comes with the mesh-panel model. With three fans that makes no practical difference, so we wire them to the motherboard headers and tune the curves there instead. Worth knowing if you ever add more fans yourself
  • All fans are plain black and non-RGB, matched to the rest of the build. Fan curves are set by hand before dispatch and verified through our standard stress testing
  • This is a genuinely quiet machine. A 65W processor and a 160W graphics card in a 45 litre case with three fans is not a difficult thermal problem, and the tinted glass side panel is slightly quieter than the mesh alternative

  • 750W is far more than this build draws. That is intentional. A 7500F and a 9060 XT together pull well under 300W in normal use, so the supply spends its whole life in the quiet, efficient middle of its range rather than working hard
  • The real reason for the headroom is upgrades. This unit will run an RTX 5070, an RX 9070 or an RX 9070 XT without being replaced, so a graphics card upgrade in two years is a fifteen minute job rather than a rebuild
  • ATX 3.1 certified, which means it is built to handle the sudden power spikes modern graphics cards produce without shutting the machine down. All PC36 power supplies of 750W and above are ATX 3.1 certified
  • This is a fixed cable unit, and in this case that is the right choice rather than a compromise. 👁️ Transparency notes

• You are paying about a hundred pounds for the case. Our Aegis One is the same processor and the same graphics card in a plainer chassis for less. Nord One exists because some people want the machine on their desk to look like furniture rather than equipment, and that is a perfectly good reason to spend the money. It is not a reason we are going to hide from you.
• One memory stick, not two. This build ships with a single 16GB module, which runs in single channel and costs a few percent in some games against a matched pair. In exchange you get three free slots, so adding a second 16GB stick later gives you 32GB in dual channel without discarding anything. If you would rather have 32GB from the start, take the option below.
• Ray tracing is the weak spot of this graphics card. Radeon has closed a lot of ground with RDNA 4 but NVIDIA is still ahead on ray tracing specifically. Ray traced games are playable at 1440p with FSR 4 enabled. If ray tracing is the reason you are buying, tell us and we will point you at something better suited.
• The walnut is real wood. Grain and tone vary from panel to panel, so yours will not look exactly like the photographs. That is the nature of the material rather than a fault.
• The case ships without a rear fan. We fit one to every Nord as standard, at our cost. Mentioned here only because if you ever buy this case yourself, you should know to budget for one.

  Worth it only if you play CPU-limited games at high refresh rates, such as competitive shooters at 1080p or heavily modded simulation games. At 1440p with this graphics card you would not see the difference, because the card is what sets the frame rate.
