🔥 Ark Two

The all-rounder that also happens to be the good-looking one

The tell on a well-judged build is that nothing in it is waiting on anything else. Ark Two puts a Ryzen 5 7500F next to a Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB for exactly that reason: at 1440p neither one is the thing holding the other back, and what a bigger processor badge would have cost went into video memory instead, which is the part you'll still be glad of in three years.

It earns its place on the desk as well as under it. Four reverse-blade ARGB fans throw their light outward through the panoramic glass rather than inward at the motherboard, the dual-chamber layout puts the cabling somewhere you cannot see it, and the tower cooler stays quiet while it works.

We asked our director, Jack, which PC36 model is the best all rounder for value, performance and looks. He told us: Ark Two.

🧬 Built to last, designed to evolve

This system is built on AMD's latest AM5 platform, which offers one of the best upgrade paths available today. That means you can start with a great processor now and still have room to move up the stack later, while keeping the same motherboard, case, power supply and most of your core components. GPU, storage and cooling are all easily upgradable so the system can grow with your needs over time.

📃 Specifications

  • 🧠 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • 6 cores, 12 threads of Zen 4. A well-balanced processor for 1440p gaming, streaming and everyday use
    • The 7500F is chosen here because at the RX 9060 XT performance level the graphics card remains the primary driver of frame rates. Spending more on a processor at this tier returns very little in real-world gaming, and we would rather that money went into the parts you actually feel
    • If you play a lot of competitive esports titles, the 7800X3D upgrade is the exception worth considering. See the upgrade options below
    • AM5 means the upgrade path stays open. A 7800X3D or 9800X3D drops straight into this board when you are ready
  • ❄️ CPU cooler: Thermalright Assassin X 120 Refined SE ARGB, single tower air cooler
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • 4 × 6mm direct-touch nickel-plated copper heatpipes through a 51 fin aluminium stack, 148mm tall, with a 120mm ARGB PWM fan on the front
    • Rated to 225W. The 7500F carries a 65W TDP and boosts past it as every modern Ryzen does, pulling around 88W with all six cores loaded. That leaves the cooler working at well under half its rating, which is why it stays quiet through a long session rather than ramping up an hour in
    • The tower clears the DIMM slots, so memory can be added or swapped later without taking the cooler off first
    • The ARGB fan ties into the case lighting for a coherent look behind the glass
    • Thermalright TF4 thermal paste, and a 3 year warranty on the cooler itself
    • If you would prefer liquid cooling, a 240mm AIO upgrade is available. See the upgrade options below
  • 🔲 Motherboard: MSI PRO B850-S WIFI6E (ATX)
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • 12+2+1 phase DRPS power delivery with a digital PWM controller, fed by two CPU power connectors. Plain English translation: far more power delivery than this build asks for, and enough to run any AM5 Ryzen at full tilt years from now without the board becoming the weak link. MSI do not publish an amperage figure for these stages and we are not going to invent one
    • AMD B850 on a full-size ATX board. Four DDR5 slots supporting up to 256GB and rated beyond DDR5-8200 with EXPO, so memory can be expanded later without replacing the kit you already have
    • PCIe 4.0 x16 for the graphics card, in a steel-reinforced slot, with a tool-free release clip so the card can be removed without reaching blind past the cooler. Two further slots below it
    • Two M.2 slots, both wired straight to the processor: one PCIe 5.0 with a heatsink, one PCIe 4.0. One is used here, leaving room for a second drive. Because both come off the CPU rather than the chipset, adding that drive costs you nothing elsewhere: all four SATA ports and every PCIe slot stay live, which is not true of every board at this price
    • 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, with the aerial supplied in the box
    • Eight USB ports on the rear and not one of them is USB 2.0: a 10Gbps USB-C, three 10Gbps USB-A and four at 5Gbps, plus a 10Gbps USB-C header for the front panel. HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4, four SATA ports, Realtek ALC897 audio
    • Flash BIOS Button, so the board can be updated with nothing fitted but the power supply, and EZ Debug LEDs that name the unhappy component rather than leaving you guessing
    • PC36 only uses motherboards chosen for stability and longevity. See our Trusted brands page
  • 📏 Memory / RAM: 32GB (2×16GB) DDR5-6000 CL36
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • EXPO-tuned dual channel DDR5-6000, the speed Ryzen responds to best on AM5
    • 32GB provides comfortable headroom for gaming, streaming and background tasks without paying for capacity that sits idle
    • Two DIMM slots stay free for a later expansion
    • Specification guaranteed, model may vary. Happy to confirm the exact part on request
  • 💾 Storage: 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD (QLC)
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • PCIe 4.0 speeds for quick boots and fast game loading. In normal use it feels identical to any other modern NVMe drive
    • QLC is the flash type, and it is what keeps a 1TB drive affordable. The one place you would notice it is writing very large files back to back, where sustained transfers of tens of gigabytes slow down once the drive's fast cache fills. Gaming, browsing and everyday work never do this
    • If you regularly move large video files, say so on live chat before you order and we will talk you through the alternatives
    • Specification guaranteed, model may vary. Happy to confirm the exact part on request
  • 🎮 Graphics card: Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • AMD's capable mid-range card for 1440p gaming. It handles modern AAA titles at high to ultra settings with genuine headroom
    • 16GB of VRAM is a meaningful advantage at this tier. Texture-heavy games and future titles have significantly more room than competing cards at similar prices, and that buffer is what keeps a card relevant rather than merely adequate
    • FSR 4 adds meaningful frame rate headroom in supported titles
    • The chipset and VRAM are guaranteed: it will always be an RX 9060 XT with 16GB. The AIB brand varies with availability, and we only use established manufacturers. See our Trusted brands page for more info
  • 🧰 Case: Fractal Pop 2 Vision - Black RGB
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • 434 × 297 × 441mm, with room for E-ATX, ATX, micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards
    • 270 degree panoramic tempered glass across the front and left side, so the interior is visible from two angles at once
    • Dual-chamber layout separates the PSU and cabling from the main components, keeping the visible chamber clean
    • Supports graphics cards up to 412mm and CPU coolers up to 172mm tall, well above what this build needs and plenty of room to upgrade into
    • The top mount takes up to a 360mm radiator if you ever move to liquid cooling
    • Tool-free access to both side panels, the top filter and the front panel
    • Reverse connector motherboard support for a cleaner cable presentation where applicable
  • 🌬️ Case cooling: 4 × 120mm ARGB reverse blade fans included with the case, plus 1 × 120mm rear exhaust
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • Four Fractal Aspect 12X Reverse RGB fans come pre-installed, two side intake and two bottom intake, feeding cool air straight onto the graphics card
    • Reverse blade design means the lighting faces outward through the glass, producing a more even and deliberate ARGB effect than standard fans
    • We add a rear exhaust fan to complete the airflow path, and the cooler carries its own 120mm ARGB fan on top of that
    • Fan curves are tuned before dispatch, and airflow is verified through our standard stress testing rather than assumed. ARGB is controllable via the front panel buttons or motherboard software
  • Power supply: Deepcool PL750D 750W 80+ Bronze
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • Includes a native 12V-2x6 PCIe 5.1 cable. That is the connector current and next-generation graphics cards use, so a future GPU upgrade needs no adaptor and no dongle: you plug the card straight in
    • Cybenetics ETA Silver rated, an independent efficiency measurement taken across the full load range, which in practice is a more useful signal than the 80+ badge on its own
    • ATX 3.1 certified, built to absorb the brief power spikes modern graphics cards produce rather than tripping over them
    • 750W is well beyond what this build draws. That is deliberate: it means a much larger graphics card can go in later, up to and including an RTX 5070 Ti, without touching the power supply
    • If you plan to fit an RTX 5080 class card in future, an 850W Gold unit is available as a quick-add
  • 🔌 Cabling: Stock black cabling, neatly arranged
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • Routed cleanly through the dual-chamber layout, which keeps most of the cabling hidden from the glass side by design
    • Braided cable extensions in your choice of colour are available via the upgrade options
  • 📶 WiFi / Bluetooth / Ethernet: Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.5G Ethernet, included
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are built into the MSI PRO B850-S WIFI6E. No separate adapter needed, and the aerial is supplied in the box
    • Wi-Fi 6E adds the 6GHz band, which is usually far less congested than 2.4 and 5GHz if your router supports it
    • 2.5 Gigabit wired Ethernet, which we would still recommend over wireless for competitive play. To be plain about what that buys you: the extra bandwidth will not make a game feel different, because wired is about latency and consistency rather than speed. Where it earns its place is moving large files to a NAS or another machine on your network
  • 🪟 Operating system: As chosen by you from the listing options below. Windows 11 Home (OEM) is recommended.
  • 🧹 Setup and optimisation: PC36 High-Class Standard. Full stress test with certificate, bloat-free installation, and BIOS set up properly
Click or tap for deeper spec info

PC36 High-Class Standard, included free with every build

    • Ready the moment you open the box. Your PC boots straight into Windows with a local account already set up. No account sign-in wall, no first-run questionnaire, no half-hour of setup before you can use the machine you just bought
    • BIOS updated and configured properly: manual fan curves, PBO enabled, EXPO/XMP enabled, Secure Boot enabled
    • Vanilla Windows 11 installation if you choose Windows, with no bloatware added by us, and all drivers loaded and ready to go
    • Full stress test with certificate. Every system is torture tested on CPU, RAM and GPU before dispatch, and ships with the certificate to prove it

PC36 Premier Optimisation, available in the listing options

    • CPU tuning to bring thermals and noise down with minimal performance loss, plus a deeper strip and debloat of Windows
    • Worth it if you want the quietest, leanest possible machine and would rather we spent the hours on it than you did

PC36 Ultimate Performance Tune, available in the listing options

    • Advanced overclocking: RAM tune, CPU tune and GPU overclock on top of everything in Premier
    • Best suited to higher-end builds where there is meaningful headroom to unlock. On a build at this tier the gains are real but modest, so most buyers here are better served by the Standard or Premier options. Ask us on live chat if you are unsure and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth it for your spec
  • 🛡️ Warranty: 3 years parts & labour (return to base)
Click or tap for deeper spec info
    • Standard 3-year coverage included, parts and labour both
    • Optional extended warranties in the listing options below
Why don't all parts list a brand and model?

Most of our spec is named exactly. The processor, motherboard, case, cooler and power supply are the models listed, every time.

For memory, storage and graphics cards we give a performance and quality guarantee instead of a model name. Supply on these three moves constantly, and pricing with it. Rather than list a part we might not be able to source next week, we commit to the specification: capacity, speed, timings, endurance class. And for graphics cards, we will always give you the chipset (e.g. Radeon RX 9060 XT) and VRAM (e.g. 16GB) that is listed.

We only use parts from established manufacturers. In practice the difference between two well-made components at the same specification is small enough that most people would never notice it.

If you'd like to know exactly what's going into your machine, ask before you order and we'll tell you. If you'd prefer a particular model, we can usually accommodate that, and you'd pay the difference in cost.

👁️ Transparency notes

  • Product images are representative photos of a similar spec in the same style. Your PC will look similar but not identical. Our support team can help clarify anything you're unsure of.
  • RGB heatspreaders on the RAM are not guaranteed unless the quick add-on is chosen - this is due to industry-wide supply constraints on memory
  • Memory, SSD and graphics card carry a specification guarantee rather than a fixed model (click or tap to read more)

Most parts are named models and will be what is delivered. RAM, SSD and graphics card instead carry a spec guarantee, because current market conditions make stock on those three very variable. This keeps us agile enough to offer good pricing and honest spec lists. If you want clarity on the precise models we will use, drop us a live chat on the day you're ready to purchase and we'll confirm it.

🛠️ Popular upgrade options

  • Quick-add upgrades. This listing has a set of one-click upgrades chosen to fit this exact build, each one priced, in the Quick-add Upgrades section on this page. Memory, storage, optimisation, the anti-sag bracket and the extended warranty are in the build options instead. Anything not shown in either place, ask us on live chat and we will price it.
  • Need a monitor, keyboard or mouse? Scroll past the add to cart button. We've paired specific peripherals to get the best out of this build.
  • Storage and RAM upgrades: available in the listing options below.
  • CPU upgrade to Ryzen 7 7800X3D: choose it from the quick-add upgrades, or speak with us via live chat.
Click or tap for more info

A meaningful step up in gaming performance, particularly in CPU-sensitive and competitive titles where the 3D V-Cache does real work. Worth it if high frame rates are a priority from day one, or if you plan to move up to a faster graphics card later and would rather have the processor already waiting for it.

  • GPU upgrade to Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB: choose it from the quick-add upgrades, or speak with us via live chat.
Click or tap for more info

A substantial step up, and the one that turns this from a strong 1440p machine into one that handles 4K with confidence. Worth it if 1440p at ultra with ray tracing, or genuine 4K, is where you want to end up. Both cards carry 16GB, so this is about raw speed rather than longevity.

  • Cooler upgrade to a 240mm AIO: choose it from the quick-add upgrades, or speak with us via live chat.
Click or tap for more info

Worth it if you want lower CPU temperatures, quieter running under load, or a cleaner showcase look through the glass. The 7500F does not need it, so this is a preference rather than a fix. A 360mm is also possible in this case if you want maximum headroom.

  • PSU upgrade to 850W 80+ Gold: choose it from the quick-add upgrades, or speak with us via live chat.
Click or tap for more info

Worth adding only if you plan to fit an RTX 5080 class card in future. The PL750D already handles everything up to and including a 5070 Ti comfortably, so on the stock spec this changes nothing.

  • Braided cable extensions: available from the quick-add upgrades section.
Click or tap for more info

Worth it if you want the interior to match the build, since the Pop 2 Vision's panoramic glass leaves the cable runs on show from two angles. Choose your colours by leaving a note on your order or contacting us via live chat.
